yathābudho jalaṁ hitvā
praticchannaṁ tad-udbhavaiḥ
abhyeti mṛga-tṛṣṇāṁ vai
tadvat tvāhaṁ parāṅ-mukhaḥ

Translation:
Just as a fool overlooks a body of water covered by the vegetation growing in it and chases a mirage, so I have turned away from You.
